Sick of Streaming? Try These Tips for How To Get More Viewers on Twitch
I’ve been posting on Twitch a lot lately, but now that I’ve got my channel up to par and my setup working, I’ve been running my favorite games on Twitch as usual. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on Twitch. I congratulate you.
However, there is no one around to see what you are doing!
Perhaps you are thinking to yourself, “Man, this really stinks! What is the reason for my Twitch streaming being watched by 0 viewers? Almost a year, three months, and six months have gone by! Are there any mistakes that I am making?”
Most people would tell you to keep at it if you asked them, there is no doubt in my mind. As long as you keep going, eventually, you will get viewers, even if it takes a while. You may not get them right away, but in the end, it will all work out.
I promise you that I won’t tell you anything about that.
Here are the tips I learned when I was streaming to no viewers on Twitch when I was streaming to no viewers at a time when I was streaming to no viewers at that time.
When I think back to the first few months of the Twitch partnership I got with the company back in 2013, I can still vividly recall the first few months of the opportunity.
As a coach, it is my responsibility to make sure you understand why what you are doing at the moment isn’t working, and that is absolutely fine with me! As well as this, I have written a beginner’s guide to streaming on Twitch that is a helpful resource if you are new to streaming on Twitch and have never streamed much previously and are just starting out.
How To Get Viewers and Followers on Twitch
When it comes to learning how to gain more Twitch live views, it can be quite difficult to determine how to gain more viewers and followers, but it is imperative that you stay open to new viewers that come to your stream when you are trying to figure out how to gain more viewers and followers.
In order to keep your viewers coming back to your Twitch stream, you must create a community on the site.
For me, the trick that worked was something that seems so obvious, but I was honestly surprised at how long it took me to realize what it was until it became obvious to me.
The one thing that changed everything for me is that I realized I would be able to see the moment I had a new viewer join my stream just out of the corner of my eye if I kept my viewer list open at all times.
When I looked at the viewer list and saw NewViewer123 in it, I would think to myself, “SWEET!”. “Look at that! It’s a viewer!”
For a few minutes, I would see them in there, then I’d look up, and they were gone!
“DAMNIT, they didn’t even say anything!” my mind recalled.
After being silent for a few moments, it dawned on me…why is that a random viewer just started to talk to me out of nowhere? It is obvious that they do not know anything about me, who I am, what I’m about, or why I’m such an interesting streamer to watch.
In addition to that, there are 5 million other streams available for them to enjoy, so why would they stay glued to mine when there are so many out there?
At first, I thought it was a bit discouraging, but as it turned out it was actually a really great discovery that led to my ultimate tip on how to get more viewers on Twitch and really keep them around long enough to actually become followers!
Checking & welcoming viewers
I made the realization that I would have to do my best to make new viewers feel welcome if I was to even have a chance to keep them watching my stream.
How do you begin to welcome your viewers to your stream? What should you do at the beginning? In my own experience, the following process worked extremely well for me, and I hope that it can also be helpful to you.
Why Keep Your Viewer List Visible?
In order to ensure that you do not miss out on any new viewers entering your steam, you should keep your viewer list open at all times. The likelihood of a new viewer popping into your stream is low and they may only stay for 3-5 minutes (sometimes even less) (depending on the number of viewers).
If you are playing the game and not speaking at the moment they join, you may not be aware they have even joined, so it may be difficult for you to make a good first impression if you are just playing the game and not speaking to them.
Keep the viewer list open so that you are alerted if you see any new viewers joining, not only because you are aware if they are there but because you can see them out of the corner of your eye that they are here. However, this will also allow you to make a great first impression on them by giving them a warm welcome to your stream.
